Casual Chic Girl: The Great Outdoors

While it’s great to beat the heat by staying at home, when it’s a gorgeous day out, my favourite thing to do is be outside.

Whether it’s going to the beach, an outdoor event or in my case the racetrack, it’s important to dress comfy and stay cool but that doesn’t mean you can’t be stylish.

Here are a few easy way to do so:

Going to the beach is relaxing and fun, so the last thing you want to do is worry about your outfit.

Option 1: Shorts and a t-shirt. But play it up a little by wearing a cotton button shirt instead and go bold in a bright colour.

Option 2: Dress. Maxi, Midi, short…there are many style to choose from. Pick a light fabric like cotton that’s easy to wear and keep it simple.

Accessorize with a fedora or floppy hat, sunglasses and cute (but simple) flip-flops. Get a shoulder bag or tote that’s big enough to carry the necessities.

If you’re spending the day outside at an event (amusement park, fair, sports event), where you’ll be on your feet a lot, comfort is key.

Option 1: Shorts and t-shirt, but go fun and wear a top with sports theme/your favourite team.

Option 2: Go with a pair of distressed cropped skinny jeans.

Accessorize with a hat from your favourite team or a fedora, sunglasses and sneakers or slip-ons. Comfy shoes are a must and go for a cross-body bag for ease.

The most important thing to remember if you’re going to spend the day outside is to wear sunscreen and drink lots of water.
