2014 Oscar Fashion

I’m an award show junkie. I watch almost every one and love seeing who won and what everyone is wearing. It’s so much fun to see all my favourite celebrities walking down the red carpet, all dressed up in gorgeous gowns, looking amazing.

And the Oscars (or Academy Awards) is the bell of the ball, so to speak. It’s the biggest award show of the season for movies, where the biggest names in Hollywood wear the finest designers, from head to toe.

My top 3 best dressed are…

Jennifer Lawrence. J. Law. I love and adore her so much. She’s funny, awesome, honest; down to earth and always looks incredible on the red carpet.

She rocked a gorgeous red Dior couture gown with peplum sides. Her short hair was swept back and her makeup was kept simple, which I loved. It kept the emphasis on the dress and accentuated her natural beauty with a Neil Lane necklace, studs, and ring set; Salvatore Ferragamo silver minaudiere box clutch. All perfect. (Plus, the fact that she tripped walking to the red carpet was just amazing)

Second is the gorgeous Olivia Wilde, who rocked her baby bump in black-open back Valentino gown. Her hair was pulled into a chic up-do and her makeup was elegant with a simple cat eye.

Thirdly was the amazing, Charlize Theron in Dior. Her hair simple and sleek, with gorgeous makeup, that was elegant and simple. Her black Dior dress that was fitted, almost mermaid like, with it flowing at the bottom. Her stunning Harry Winston diamond pendant set with a 31K colorless, flawless square emerald-cut diamond center stone brought the whole look together.

I also loved…

Jessica Biel in Chanel Couture. She looked elegant in a shimmery strapless number with her hair pulled to one side. Accessorizing with Tiffany & Co. drop earrings, bracelets, and necklace.

Cate Blanchett in Armani Prive. Her beautiful gown was adorned with pearl like embellishments that off set against the gold-nude colour. Elegant and beautiful with Roger Vivier Papillon clutch, and Sandale Choc sandals.

Honorable mentions…

Emma Watson in Vera Wang. Loved this dress on her, it was simple with metallic bodice and a semi-transparent back but it looked elegant and classic. A bold red lip finished the look.

Sandra Bullock in Alexander McQueen and Fred Leighton. I love Sandy B. and this colour was gorgeous on her. Her side swept curls were the perfect style.

Julia Roberts in Givenchy. This black lace peplum dress was gorgeous and classic, with her newly blonde hair pulled into an updo.

Margot Robbie in Saint Laurent and Forever Mark Jewelry. She may be a new-comer to the red carpet scene, but she has definitely got everything down. With her locks darkened, and a bold lip, her gorgeous black dress that had a beaded bodice was simple but the added bow in the back finished the dress perfectly.

I loved the Oscars; Ellen DeGeneres did an awesome job and was hilarious. Not to mention took the best selfie ever and actually got pizza for everyone. I vote she hosts every year.
