Beauty Blender Pro
After spending years buying and using disposable cosmetic sponges, I decided to try the Beauty Blender Pro since I've heard such great things about it. After doing my research and trying it out for myself, I have to say I really love it. This little "egg" works magic! Not only does my foundation go on much smoother, but I notice that it gives a softer look.
To use, simply wet the sponge with water (squeeze out the excess), put your desired amount of foundation on your hand, and apply using the blender in an bouncing motion. Don't drag. The final product is a flawless look.
Be sure to clean your blender after each use by squeezing it under some water and letting it sit on top of it's container to air dry (be sure to keep the container!)
For some great helpful tips on how to use, clean and store your beauty blender, InStyle talked to the creator for everything you need to know.
*Note that the Beauty Blender is more on the expensive side, but definitely worth it over buying disposable sponges time after time that add up!*

2016 Golden Globes
Last night marked the beginning of Award Show season with the Golden Globes. There were a lot of really gorgeous looks on the red carpet, but I've narrowed it down to my top 3.
Brie Larson in Custom Calvin Klein Hand-Embriodered Topaz Crystal Gown with Salvatore Ferragamo Shoes and Tiffany & Co. Jewelry. The moment I saw this dress I fell in love with it. The cut is so beautiful with the cutouts, and the back is simple yet stunning. She kept her hair straight with a slightly deep side-part, and her makeup was so beautiful with bronze tones. I like that she kept her jewelry on the simpler side keeping the dress as the focal point.
Julianna Moore in Tom Ford with Chopard Jewelry. The colour of this dress is stunning, and I love the cutout on the top that goes to the open back.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Custom Atelier Versace, Jimmy Choo Shoes and Clutch, with Neil Lane Jewelry. The simplicity of the dress is stunning, and let that be the focus with just minimal jewels. Bronzy makeup and loose waves really brought the look together.

Style evolution thoughts...
One thing I've been thinking a lot about lately is how much my style has changed over the years, and especially in the past 2 years.
Style evolution is one of those things, that I don't think anyone realizes they go through until they look back on old photos and see themselves wearing something that they wouldn't wear now.
And while it's not a bad thing, it makes me wonder about my style and how much it has evolved.
I don't remember the exact moment when it did, but through following other bloggers, and seeing how they wear different pieces, what their style is, I found myself loving things I never even thought of before and being inspired by others' fashion sense whether is be a blogger, or celebrity is something I not only find to be fun, but also love.
When I started this blog, I thought I had an clear idea of what my style was, and though the name "Casual Chic Girl" still reflects that, the evolution my style has changed and I think the name has as well in some ways. Casual Chic Girl to me means, looking good and stylish no matter what you're wearing.
How has my style changed? While I still love the casual chic look, I prefer things that are a little edgier, while keeping it simple and fresh.
If you look back on some of my starter posts, you'll notice what I posted then and what I've been posting more recently has reflected what I look for in pieces, and how I style outfits.
Stay tuned to see what it's store for 2016!!
