Blogsperation

Now that I can call myself a blogger, I find myself getting inspiration from other sites that I follow. Whether it’s for fashion, style or even food, there are a lot of great bloggers out there that have ideas, or inspiration that can be used for everyday.

While I don’t follow a lot, the few that I do, I love seeing what they’ll post daily.

Atlantic Pacific by Blair Eadie. She isn’t afraid to mix and match colours, prints or fabrics and dressed up, or down, she always looks good.

Cupcakes and Cashmere by Emily Schuman. She gives lots of daily tips in so many different areas, and has amazing style.

Happily Grey by Mary Seng. I really love her style and how she puts pieces together. She really has an eye for fashion.

Gal Meets Glam by Julie Engel (no relation). She really knows how to add that extra touch to outfits to dress them up and always looks amazing.

Damsel in Dior by Jacey Duprie. She can takes simple pieces and knows how to make them look good and put together. Love her style.

I always think it’s a good idea to take style ideas from others; it gives you a platform to try new things and take a fashion risk sometimes. You never know what ideas will and won’t work, which will help decide if a certain look is right for you.

2014 Cannes Film Festival

Every year, along the French Riviera is the Cannes Film Festival (this year was May 15th to 24th). The biggest and most glamorous red carpet for movie premieres. It’s one of the top places for celebrities to show off their new movies along with showcasing incredible fashion.

There were so many gorgeous looks this year, but here are my 3 favourite ones.

It all started with the opening ceremony where actress Blake Lively wowed in a gorgeous burgundy halter style gown, with a thigh high slit. Her long blonde locks were pulled back in a braided ponytail, and she wore beautiful statement earrings that matched her dress along with diamond bracelets with beige heels.

Next, Eva Longoria looked incredible in a white strapless dress at one of the premieres. The v-sweetheart neckline and mermaid style dress with a train and embellishments. Her dark brown hair was parted down the middle and curled to perfection, with diamond earrings and beige satin pumps.

Jennifer Lawrence looked gorgeous and chic at the Mockingjay photo call in a white-cropped top with colourful scenery embellishments and white skirt. Her blonde short hair was parted to the side in messy waves and she finished her look with crystal triangle earrings, snake rose gold bracelet, spiked rose gold ring and the cool silver pumps complimented everything.

I always look forward to Cannes and this year didn't disappoint, and I'm sure next year will be just as amazing!!

New Products Alert

When it comes to my face, I always love trying new products. Some may work, some not but it's better to try them and know for sure, then to wonder.

I first heard about Josie Maran Argan Oil from Actress Ellen Pompeo, who has amazing skin, and decided to do some research. It’s made from 100% pure Argan nut oil that can be used for hair, body and face…anywhere! It’s not greasy and absorbs fast as it heals and conditions.

The first time I used it on my hair, I noticed the results right away. It made my hair softer, and unlike other oils, which made my hair feel greasy after 2 days (I wash my hair every other day), this just felt soft.

I also used it on my face at night instead of my usual moisturizer and again, I noticed the difference. I’ve dealt with eczema on my eyelids on and off for years, and because of waxing I got non-contaigious warts under my eyebrows; all of which I’ve used prescriptive medication from my dermatologist to get rid of, and while creams and gels have worked, the Argan oil healed my skin much faster and gentler than anything else.

Want that Beachy look without having to go to a beach? Then this is the product for you. There are 3 ways to use it. Once you've applied your favourite de-frizzer (like above) on wet hair, comb it through then spray this in, then you can either scrunch it; mess with it, until you’re satisfied with it and then let it air dry, or pull your hair into a low bun; securing it with 2 or 3 bobby pins and letting it dry, lastly you can section your hair into 2 parts twisting each area and securing it on your head with 2 or 3 bobby pins and letting it dry. Each result with give you soft beachy, loose waves without frizz, stickiness or the crunch. You can also To tame any flyaways, I like to use Argan Oil.

This product is great on those humid days when (if you’re like me) you step outside and your hair turns into a frizz ball. It’s great when you’re travelling somewhere where you’ll be on a beach and straightening your hair is pointless, or going to be spending all day outdoors (like me at the race track) and want something easy to manage.

Now, keep in mind that both products are on the expensive side.

I bought the travel size of Josie Maran’s Argan Oil for $20 and travel size of Bumble and Bumble Surf Pray for $19.50 (both at Sephora).

While I had great results for both, it's best to try them out for yourself to see for sure as everyone has different hair and skin types, and I hope that you enjoy and get the same outcome as I did.
